On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in the Central Hall of the Bank of Greece (Paneistimiou 21, time 11:00 – 16:00) an information day of the emblematic Action “Resilience, inclusion, and development: Towards a fair, green and digital transition of the Greek regions” (JustReDI). The Action is implemented with the partnership of six research centers and universities, coordinated by the National Center for Social Research (EKKE) within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, with the funding of the European Union – Next Generation EU in the amount of 4,915,000 euros.
The aim of the information day is to present the expected results of the project, as well as to reflect on the challenges and perspectives of the dual transition in the context of the climate crisis and the advancing digitization of society and the economy. This is an absolutely up-to-date reference project (https://www.justredi.gr) in which a large number of young researchers and scientists are employed. A systematic study of the social effects of the green and digital transition is carried out in terms of: a) the evaluation of the existing situation in the regions of the country, b) the recording of opinions, attitudes and behaviors of both the general public and individual social groups, c) the provision technological solutions and tools to support policy proposals (data driven policy making), d) the contents of public policies regarding the positive influences and effects of the green and digital transition in the Greek regions, so that the digital transformation and decarbonization are accomplished in terms of equity, resilience, sustainable development and inclusion.
According to the program (in Greek), the information day consists of two parts:
- In the first part (11:00-13:15), in addition to the opening address and greetings of the authorities, the first round table will be organized, in which the expected results of the project will be discussed.
- In the second part (13:30-15:30) the second round table will take place, during which challenges and perspectives accompanying the dual transition will be discussed. The information day will conclude with a reference to the next research stages of the project.
